Enhancing the broadband network
March 2008

Telecom New Zealand is busy deploying 3,600 roadside cabinets and 2,500 kilometres of new fibre optic cable as part of their commitment to enable the delivery of broadband connections between 10Mbps and 20Mbps to 80% of New Zealanders by the end of 2011 and Pavire is there every step of the way.

Better communications and Internet access are essential to keep New Zealand's economy competitive, and New Zealanders connected to the world.
Starting with Telecom New Zealand’s existing copper access network, the Chorus team is enhancing the local access network by implementing a cabinetisation programme (shortening the local loop) that will deliver high speed broadband to more homes and businesses than ever before.

This will be achieved by rebuilding large parts of Telecom New Zealand’s existing network and by a process called cabinetisation, part of a $1.4 billion project to improve the local access network and enable exciting new services to be introduced in New Zealand.

Pavire every step of the way:
  • Tracking the 3,600 cabinet installations
  • Monitoring the Performance of contractors
  • Triggering payments on Key Performance Indicators
  • Keeping and eye on 11,000 active deliverables
  • Reducing time sent compiling documents
  • Increasing collaboration
  • Providing an active and relevant knowledgebase
